I wanted the "American Dream," Aviation Katia- Miss Onassis 1997

When you come from another country, you hear that America is a place to get rich. Our entire family was born in Turkey, so we spoke Turkish. After moving to Greece, we spoke Greek. Then, moving to New York and trying to learn English was insane. Later, I moved to California. Now I am in Las Vegas, Nevada. By the way, you Americans tell us, "Let's go to Jack in the Box," or "grab your mouse and go to the bar." I had no clue why a man named Jack was in a box and why I needed a mouse that went to the bar. My answer was that I have a dog and wanted to go to a bar to bring a mouse and a drink; that was my understanding.

Fast forward to getting into the business to get rich.  Becoming a pilot didn't work out because I couldn't understand anything, including how to drive a car, a motorcycle, a boat, or anything with an engine. I could never pass the required testing, and I  had accidents in everything I touched. Unfortunately, during the flying portion, I almost crashed several times, and they never invited me back for lessons.

One thing that made my life amazing was that I stopped at nothing to climb to the top. To get in the business, I showed up as a man with a mustached, bearded men's suit and lied on the application that my name was Ken Goldstein.

The day after I got hired, I came back as a girl named Katia. The shocked look was my payback, and to this day, I'm still known as Ken because I Ken do the job. (wink)

If you are interested, why did I choose the name Ken? Because I can do the job, and I've been doing it since I was 13.
